The Kentucky Stallions are a minor league football team based in the Northern Kentucky area. They operated from 1998 to 2011. During the course of the franchise's history most of our games where played in Cincinnati until obtaining the good fortune of calling Rice Mount-Joy Stadium at Dixie Heights High School our home.
The Stallions are a non-profit, Christian organization, geared toward helping players that are seeking to move on to the next level. As well as providing an avenue for men 18 years or older who still want to play for the love of the game.
The Kentucky Stallions are owned by Homer Reeves and Mike Metzger, and are controlled by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.
After a great 2010 campaign which ended with a 9-3 overall record, the Stallions began to prepare for an even better 2011 but injuries ultimately took their toll. No position was hit harder than the QuarterBack position, and the team went thru 7 quarterbacks in their first five games. Faced with a season without a quarterback, the Stallions decided to merge operations with the Cincinnati Falcons who play at Scott High School five miles away.
"My only regret is that we couldn't give our fans what they deserved," said coach Metzger. "A National Championship."
For those of you who are not familiar with the world of adult minor league football, we play by the same rules and regulations as the NFL with one main difference, our players DO NOT get paid.
We are classified by the NCAA and NAIA as amateur athletics, and therefore our players are eligible to either enroll or return to college without fear of repercussions, which several have chosen to do over the past few years.
Players interested in joining a team should check out our league information page. The Cincinnati Falcons are located five miles away at Scott High School for those looking to practice and play in Ky, along with a slew of other teams who practice across the river.
